How do you deal with disappointment or rejection? As writers we are going to get some of each, as long as you keep sticking your foot in the door and sending out your work. Which, of course, you are doing, right? Right?!!

It must be heart breaking to be rejected for the very first project you bid on. After all you have spent so much time preparing your portfolio for the project. However, this is life. There are people winning and losing at the same time.
Perhaps you are rejected today but tomorrow, you might get yourself a better project. Here are a few things you can do in times when you are rejected from the projects you bid on.

Getting rejection letters in the mail is a pretty cool thing. OK, I admit not as cool as getting a publisher love letter with promises of fame and fortune, but cool none the less. Oh, I know what your thinking: “Now George is going to give us that tired old number about each rejection being one step closer to being published.” While there is a kernel of truth in that little ditty, it’s cliche and not very helpful.
