Writing Buddies
by K.M. Weiland @ Wordplay teamswriting groupsWriting, by its very nature, is a solitary pursuit. Even those authors who work in tandem with others (co-writers, ghost writers, editors) must necessarily do their actual work by themselves. Fortunately, most of us who seek the writing life are not only mentally and emotionally equipped to handle the solitude, we may even crave it. Nevertheless, almost unarguably, a time comes for us all when the loneliness becomes a dark night and the battle seems too big to be fought on our own. That’s where writing buddies come into play.
How Not to Hire Freelance Writers and Bloggers
by Jennifer Mattern @ All Freelance Writing teamsI wanted to offer a few tips for those considering hiring freelance writers. Here’s what you should not do in your job ads (and why):
How To Work With Other Writers
by Sharon Hurley Hall @ Get Paid to Write Online teamsIt happens to all freelance writers at some time. Since writers always have to plan ahead to manage their workload, they may find that a rush job comes in to disturb their well organised schedule.
Managing a Team
by James @ Men with Pens freelancingteamsMany freelancers start by working on their own to earn some extra money and subsidize their income. There comes a point where demand may exceed the individual’s production rate, at which point the freelancer may sit back and wonder how to handle all the incoming work. Some freelancers opt to take on only what they can handle, turning down offers of more work. Others see the potential for earning income by hiring another freelancer to handle the excess demand. How to find your perfect writing partner
by Iain Broome @ Write for Your Life teamswriting partnerWriting collaboratively can be a fantastic experience. However, you don’t necessarily need to work on the same project with someone to benefit from having a writing partner. Rather than team up with another writer to produce a joint story, script or series of articles, why not use their knowledge and experience to better your own work? And, of course, you can do likewise for them. Because I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, writing can be a solitary pursuit. Rather than lurk in the shadows of your study for hours, days or weeks on end, find yourself a writing partner instead. Develop a good working relationship another writer and reap the rewards.
Finding a Freelancer
by James @ Men with Pens teamsBusiness on the internet needs two things: A good graphic designer and a good writer. Your website has to look good and be laid out properly, and your copy has to attract or inform readers. Relying on your own abilities for graphic design and writing can be an option to save on costs, but unless you’re very skilled, hiring a professional is a better idea. A professional can most likely do a better job and free up your time so you can focus on other aspects of your business that need attention.
